Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek First Nation- Nokiiwin Tribal Council (NTC)

Functions as the governing centre for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:- Hospital and policing services through the city of Thunder Bay

- Publishes a community newsletter available on website
- Hosts an Annual Pow Wow, currently at Victoria Inn in Thunder Bay
- Participates as a member of Waaskiinaysay Ziibi Inc, an economic development corporation made up of five Lake Nipigon First Nations
- Owns and operates Papasay Sawmill located at Sand Point
