Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Couchiching First Nation

Functions as the governing centre for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to:
- Hospital services available at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances
- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call 1-888-310-1122 for police services to be dispatched to reserve
- Owns and operates Couchiching Bingo Palace
- Provides the Couchiching Child Care Centre also known as 4 C's Daycare
- Owns and operates the 18-hole Heron Landing Golf Course
- Offers recreational activities and events for community members including a fully-equipped men's and women's gym, a sportsfield and parks, summer day camps for youth and a Toy Lending Library
- Provides a community convenience store and gasbar
