  • Manages the City's property holdings
  • Administers and negotiates all purchases of land for the municipality
  • Disposes of all surplus lands, including industrial, commercial, institutional and residential lots that are no longer required for a municipal purpose
  • Manages all leases of vacant land and office space, needed by various City departments
  • Administers the Licence of Occupation (Encroachment Agreement) process to protect the city from proposed or existing encroachments on city-owned property
  • Administers all easement documentation for the municipality ensuring the legal use of privately owned land by the City servicing departments such as Engineering and other agencies such as the local utility companies
  • Processes easement documentation for property owners who wish to have the easement reduced or removed
  • Reviews and processes applications for the closing and/or potential sale of any streets or lane ways within the municipality
  • Provides miscellaneous property administration
