Description des services: Community-Based Exercise Programs
Partnering with the Canada Games Complex, supports 3 community-based exercise programs, including Keep Moving with Mixed Neurology, Keep Moving with Parkinson's and Keep Moving with Stroke
Keep Moving with Stroke
Provides a one-hour class for individuals who have had a stroke
Reviewed by a Physiotherapist, a trained exercise instructor is provided to deliver the class and focuses on the following:
  • Aerobic conditioning
  • Functional strengthening
  • Mobility and balance exercises

Procédé et formulaires: Self-referral accepted
Admissibilité / population desservie:
  • Individuals who have had a stroke

  • Must have completed all therapy and be able to walk at least 10 meters/30 feet with or without a walking aid

  • Must be able to perform standing exercises with or without support

  • Must be able to tolerate exercising for 60 minutes twice a week safely


Note: A pre-admission assessment is conducted by a health care practitioner, such as a physiotherapist
