Description des services: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services workers on-reserve provided through Anishinaabe Abinooji Family Services in Kenora
  • Hospital and ambulance services available at Kenora Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Dryden Regional Hospital
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call for police services to be dispatched to reserve; Kenora Central detachment
  • Community straddles Ont/Man border
  • Provides The Landing Store & Gas Station and another small convenience store
  • Provides a Canada Post postal station known as the Kejick Post Office
  • Offers Bubbles Laundry facility
  • Operates a community garden and greenhouse during summer months
  • Administers the Alice Kejick Memorial Education Training Centre, David Kejick School and the Ombigi Aawasoon Child Care Centre
  • Provides Isobel Pinesse Memorial Health Centre
  • Offers the Iskatewizaagegan Public Library
  • Shoal Lake has been the primary drinking water supply for Winnipeg since 1919 but Shoal Lake #39 receives absolutely no compensation for the water supply
