  • Provides information, education and support relating to healthy growth and development
  • Provides breastfeeding and infant feeding information and workshops
  • Works with various community partners, committees and coalitions addressing child health topics
  • Public health nurses can provide information on topics including:
    • Preconception health
    • Healthy pregnancies
    • Breastfeeding, infant feeding and healthy eating
    • Sleep
    • Home safety
    • Healthy growth and development
    • Parent-child relationships
    • Parental health and well-being
    • Help with establishing and practicing routines
    • Advise to support independence with potty-training, dressing and other skills
    • Home visiting services
