Description des services: Serves as a non-political Chiefs Council which provides support and advisory services to nine member First Nation communities

  • Provides healthcare services for all members within the nine Matawa First Nations, both on and off reserve
  • Works in Partnership with Matawa Health and Social Meno Biimadewswin and several other organizations, agencies and institutions affiliated with First Nations that provide health care and related programming
  • Offers a Walk-in Clinic at the Algoma St location in Thunder Bay, and Health Care Providers also travel to the Matawa Communities to ensure patients receive the care they require
  • Provides physician, nursing, mental health, dietitian services, both in person and virtually:
    • Primary care
    • Chronic disease support
    • Community Health
    • Diabetes support
    • Education programs
    • Elder support
    • Foot Care
    • Immunization/Vaccinations
    • Mental health
    • Nutrition programs
    • Public Health
    • Traditional Healing
    • Youth Services
    Walk In Clinic
    • Provides immediate care for non-emergency and uncomplicated situations, with a range of services similar to those provided by a primary care physician's office
