Description des services: Provides an alternative Native child welfare program which is administered by each of the Rainy Lake Tribal Area First Nations communities

Delivers a range of family counselling and child protection services
  • Offers community based family counselling for children, teens, men, women and families as a group
  • Provides clinical assessments and case management services
  • Provides services of traditional healers
  • Offers community workshops to raise awareness of issues affecting families including substance abuse and family violence
  • Works with other service providers in developing programs and services aimed at high risk groups
  • Supports community initiatives that promote family healing such as traditional gatherings
Areas of counselling and therapy can include:
  • Anger management
  • Conflict resolution
  • Depression
  • Family breakup
  • Grief issues
  • Physical and sexual violence
  • Self esteem problems
  • Suicide issues
Provides services based on following principles:
  • Band directed
  • Community based and oriented
  • Family focused
  • Native
  • Non authoritarian
  • Non judgmental
  • Respectful
