Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services, head office in Sioux Lookout
  • Hospital services available at Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, Wunnumin Lake Detachment; local phone: 807-442-2570, fax: 807-442-9962
  • Provides a Northern Store, a General Store, Troll's Store and the Wab Store
  • Provides the Norman Hall Community Centre for community events and meetings
  • Offers a community arena and a Senior's Complex
  • Operates a Canada Post postal station
  • Offers a local radio station and cable television
  • Provides provincial court services in the community at the Band Office on an occasional basis through a Scheduled Outreach site
  • Serviced by scheduled and charter flights through the Wunnumin Lake Airport located 3.7 km S of community; maintained and serviced by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario
  • Provides worship services at St James Anglican Church
  • Administers education services and Lydia Lois Beardy Memorial School under the Wunnumin Lake Education Authority
  • Offers an Emergency First Response Team and a Volunteer Fire Department
  • Provides health care and health programs at the Wanapetum Memorial Health Centre
  • Administers the Wunnumin Lake Day Care Centre
