  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services in Sioux Lookout
  • Hospital services available at Margaret Cochenour Hospital in Red Lake and Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
  • Provides several small private businesses and a Northern Store housing a Tim Horton's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut
  • Provides the Whitefeather Laundromat
  • Offers a small business centre housing the Pikangikum Hotel, Weseeneawegamic Restaurant and other offices
  • Operates a Canada Post postal station
  • Provides a band-run community radio station
  • Operates the Whitefeather Forest Management Corp
  • Provides the locally-owned Eshkotay Wayab Power Authority
  • Serviced by Wasaya Airways flights through the Pikangikum Airport located 1.9 km NE of the community
  • Served also by the Pikangikum Water Aerodrome located on Pikangikum Lake
  • Participates in Project Journey, initiated in Feb 2014, a partnership between the National Crime Prevention Strategy of Public Safety Canada, the OPP and the community of Pikangikum with a goal to prevent and reduce youth crime and anti-social behaviours among at-risk youth between the ages of 6-18 years of age in the community
  • Provides an Early Childhood Daycare Centre
  • Provides health care at the Pikangikum Nursing Station
  • Coordinates health programs through the Pikangikum Health Authority (PHA)
  • Provides educational services through Pikangikum Education Authority, which administers Eenchokay Birchstick School for students from JK-Grade 12
  • Offers the Whitefeather Forest Management Corporation
  • Became the first community to be connected to Ontario's power grid through the Wataynikaneyap Power project in Dec 2018; completion of the Pikangikum transmission line eliminates the community's dependence on diesel fuel
  • Connected to SpaceX Starlink broadband Internet in Dec 2020, making Pikangikum the first Northern community to do so
  • New bail bed facility opened in Dec 2020
