    • Advises owners/operators on steps to be taken to ensure safety of drinking water including water treatment, testing and training
    • Supports municipal water works to announce boil water advisories when health risk is indicated and reviews lab testing to determine when water is safe
    • Monitors the quality of municipal water supplies
    • Provides information on water treatment and alternative methods
    • Investigates drinking water complaints and related illnesses
    • Inspects public facilities including beaches, spas, swimming pools, and whirlpools
    • Posts public swimming advisories when water is unsafe
