Description des services: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Webequie First Nation

Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Hospital services available at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services (NAPS) Northwest Region; local phone: 807-353-1448; fax: 807-353-1317
  • Child & Family services provided by Tikinagan Child & Family Services, head office in Thunder Bay
  • Offers a Small Business Centre which includes the Northwest Company's Northern Store and the Webequie Motel
  • Provides a Canada Post postal station
  • Provides 3 sweat lodges for community members
  • Operates a local radio station, CSPN Radio
  • Serviced with several daily passenger flights by Wasaya Airlines and Nakina Outpost Air Service to/from Webequie Airport, administered and operated by Ministry of Transportation; charter air service also available
  • Participates in the Junior Canadian Rangers Program for youth (12-18 years) which teaches various skills including but not limited to first aid, using rifles safely, hunting and fishing, Native customs and traditions, healthy living, staying in school and drug and alcohol abuse awareness
  • Offers a Volunteer Fire Department
  • Provides health care and health programs at the Webequie Nursing Station
  • Administers education services and Simon Jacob Memorial Education Centre under the Webequie First Nation Education Authority
Webequie is a dry community and ALL arriving passengers at airport and via winter road undergo a luggage check for alcohol and/or illegal substances
