Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Anishnaabeg of Naongashiing- Tribal Council: Independent
- Political Territorial Organization: Grand

Functions as the governing centre for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following: - Conducts business affairs in nearby towns of Morson and Rainy River
- Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Weech-it-te-win Child and Family Services in Fort Frances
- Hospital and ambulance services available in Rainy River
- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Treaty #3 Police; call 1-888-310-1122 for police services to be dispatched to reserve
- Offers employment for community members in trapping, fishing and forestry industries; seasonal employment available in summer resorts near community
- Owns and operates the largest commercial fishing license quota in Treaty #3
- Receives several radio stations, high-speed Internet and several newspapers
